The Bald Eagle is found in North America, mostly in Alaska. They live in forests and near water because they eat fish, such as salmon. The bald eagle is a large bird of prey. It isn't really bald, it just has white feathers on its head. The bald eagle is a symbol of the USA. The bald eagle used to be endangered. They are threatened by hunters, poachers and pesticides. The pesticides run off into the water and end up in the fish. Then the bald eagles eats the fish and the pesticides cause the shells of their eggs to crack before their young are born. Today the government has banned these pesticides.
