sidewinder (snake)
Genre: Encyclopedia
By encyclo
 2 of 5

Sidewinders are snakes named for the way they move their bodies. A sidewinder throws its body forward, and the rest of the body follows. Above a sidewinder's eyes there are two horns. These horns serve as sun shields and block sand blowing in the desert.

These venomous snakes are nocturnal, which means they are active at night.
