Sandra Day O'Connor took the oath of office as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court on September 26, 1981. O'Connor was nominated by President Ronald Reagan. She was the first woman in history to sit on the Supreme Court. Sandra Day received a degree from Stanford in Economics. Then she began working on her L.L.B. dregree and received it two years later. Sandra Day O'Connor was appointed Arizona State Senator in 1969.
