Hornets are social wasps. It has a black and white body with a white face. Their nests are hanging. They can be found on trees and bushes. The nest can grow as big as a basketball and have 100 adult hornets. Hornets were some of the first paper makers. They use chewed up plant and wood to make large paper nests. In spring the queen female makes the nests. The little hornets that are born first help make the nest larger. Hornets live in their nest for one year.
