The Midland Reading Council is a non-profit, professional organization for parents, teachers, librarians, administrators, and other persons interested in the promotion and development of literacy at all levels in Midland and the surrounding communities. MRC is the local affiliate of the International Reading Association and the Texas State Reading Association. MRC has received the TSRA Lone Star Award and the IRA Honor Council Award.
